Bike Elf and Wesley House Community Center challenged Wesley House program participants last January. K-8th grade students could earn a bicycle by achieving all A’s & E’s (1st level honor roll) in both grading periods between January and May. For the past five months, Wesley House’s after-school program has focused on academic success. They provided one-on-one homework help, tutoring, and developed individual learning plans for each child by collaborating with teachers and parents.
Today the children who met the challenge and achieved their goal will receive Bike Elf bicycles, a new bicycle helmet and a new lock at a special ceremony. All of the children who attend the Wesley House after school program will attend the ceremony to celebrate the success of the children who have worked hard to earn a bicycle.
